Baringo County Government has donated food and non-food items to victims of a massive landslide that occurred in Chesongo area, Elgeyo Marakwet County. The tragedy in the neighboring county, claimed many lives and left scores of others homeless and destitute.

The CEC in charge of Devolution, Public Service and Administration, ICT and eGovernment Hon. Peninah Bartuin, who handed over the consignment in Eldoret Airstrip, expressed Baringo County government's sympathy to those affected.

"County Government of Baringo, led by Governor Benjamin Cheboi, stands with those affected by the tragedy. We are saddened and will continue praying for divine intervention so that such calamities are not witnessed again in the area", she added.

Hon. Bartuin was flanked by her Chief Officer for Devolution and Special Programmes James Chepkonga Chepyegon, Director Disaster Risk Management Mike Baimet among other county officials.
