Duties and Responsibilities

1. Screening prescriptions for legal validity, drug contraindications, drug interactions, appropriateness of dose frequency and duration of dosing and patience convenience;
2. Preparing and dispensing medicines according to good dispensing practices and counseling patients on use of medicines;
3. Making extemporaneous preparations
4. Participating in ward rounds
5. Identifying medicinal gaps and challenges
6. Maintaining a daily activity log book for recording all activities undertaken
7. Recommending over the counter medicines to patients/clients with simple medical conditions and making necessary referrals.
8. Making entries into the relevant inventory management records and register

Requirements for Appointment

1. Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B.Pharm) from an Institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
2. Successfully completed one (1) year Internship from a recognized Institution
3. Registration Certificate by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
4. Certificate in Computer Skills from a recognized Institution
