Job Details/Description:

The Municipal Manager will report to the municipal Board and be responsible for the following functions:

  1. Developing policies, plans, strategies and programs for approval by the Board in consultation with the County Executive Committee.
  2. formulation and implementation of integrated development plan as guided by the municipal Board and County Executive Committee.
  3. Development and management of schemes including site development in collaboration with relevant national and county agencies.
  4. Implementation of National & County legislation
  5. promoting infrastructural development and service delivery within the municipality
  6. management and administration in accordance with the urban area and cities Act and all other relevant laws
  7. Implementation and monitoring of performance management systems
  8. implementation of any other municipal Board decisions

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen
  2. Have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Management, Economics, urban Planning/Development, Sociology or any other related field from a recognized university
  3. Master’s degree in in any of the above fields and/or a relevant fiel
  4. Certified Public Secretaries (CPSK) and Membership of ICS ( Institute of Certified Secretaries in good professional standing will be an added advantag
  5. Has proven experience of not less than ten (10) years in administration or management either in the public or private secto
  6. Possession of at least a Senior Management Course program lasting not less than four (4) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institutio
  7. Demonstrate managerial, leadership and professional competence in work performance and results
